FR Moto caps off a brilliant weekend with victory in a record-breaking edition of the 24H Moto Barcelona Catalunya
View moreKawasaki Català Aclam secures second place after keeping the fight for victory alive for almost the entire race, while Box69 Racing completes the overall podium.
Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (Montmeló), 12 July 2026. The 24H Moto Barcelona Catalunya Martimotos 2026 came to a close with an edition that will go down in history thanks to a new record of 780 laps completed, surpassing the previous mark of 762 laps, set in 2024, and an enthralling battle between FR Moto (David Sanchis, Diego Pérez, Marco Tapia and Daniel González) and Kawasaki Català Aclam (Miquel Pons, Xavi Artigas, Àlex Toledo and Julien Pilot).
The Bigues i Riells-based team claimed both the overall victory and the Endurance World Championship (EWC) class win, while Kawasaki Català Aclam finished second in both classifications. Box69 Racing (Christian Palomares, Marc Miralles, Félix Rodríguez and Bastian Ubl) completed the overall podium and took victory in the Open Superbike category, repeating its success from 2021.
After an opening phase marked by several lead changes, FR Moto and Kawasaki Català Aclam emerged as the race's main protagonists, engaging in a thrilling battle for victory that lasted for virtually the entire 24 hours. Both teams entered the final stages on the same lap, an unprecedented scenario in the recent history of the event that kept the fight for the win wide open until less than two hours before the chequered flag.
The decisive moment came when an electronic issue forced Kawasaki Català Aclam to spend several minutes in the pits. Although the Molins de Rei squad managed to solve the problem and return to the track, the unscheduled stop proved decisive, allowing FR Moto to build a lead it maintained to the finish.
The Bigues i Riells outfit crossed the finish line after completing 780 laps, setting a new event record. Kawasaki Català Aclam finished second, six laps behind, matching the gap between first and second seen in the 2014, 2018 and 2019 editions, all of which featured similarly close finishes.
Box69 Racing secured the final place on the overall podium, finishing 48 laps behind the winners and 42 behind the runners-up, capping one of the most impressive performances of the weekend. The Sabadell-based team was among the standout performers of the race. After suffering two crashes, both at Turn 10 on Saturday, Box69 Racing had dropped as low as 26th overall.
However, the Catalan squad produced one of the comeback drives of the event, climbing back to third overall while also claiming victory in the Open Superbike category. Coincidentally, the team repeated the same overall and class result it achieved in 2021.
This edition will also be remembered for the way the race unfolded. The complete absence of Safety Car interventions throughout the 24 hours meant the race ran virtually uninterrupted, allowing for a consistently high pace and contributing to the new lap record. The exceptional reliability of the competing machines also played its part, with only four retirements, significantly fewer than is usually seen in this event.
In the class results, BF Endurance Racing Sachsen (Steffen Ficker, Stefan Gut, Norman Blümel and Andre Krüger) claimed victory in Superstock 1000 after finishing an impressive fourth overall, while Exit 94 (Nabil Marco, Raúl Navarrete, Kyle Payne and Marco Díaz) won the Superstock 600 category and also finished ninth in the overall classification. Also worthy of recognition was the outstanding performance of Martimotos Racing #51 (Juliette Maret, Noémie Garcia, Xenia Rodríguez and Marta Tomás), one of the all-female teams, which finished third in the Superstock 600 category.
The 24H Moto Barcelona Catalunya Martimotos 2026 therefore brought the curtain down on a weekend characterised by outstanding sporting competition, remarkable machine reliability and a battle for victory that remained alive until the decisive stages, making it one of the finest editions of recent years.
The most sustainable 24 Hours in the Circuit's history
The 24H Moto Barcelona Catalunya Martimotos 2026 became the most sustainable edition in the Circuit's history thanks to a new temporary lighting installation that replaced traditional halogen floodlights with high-efficiency LED technology and incorporated lighting towers powered by solar energy and battery storage.
This initiative reduces installed power by more than 86%, eliminates the need for diesel generators and significantly cuts energy consumption, CO₂ emissions and environmental noise, further reinforcing the Circuit's commitment to the decarbonisation of major sporting events.
